- Summary: Helka Kaski was born and grew up in Finland. She moved to London in 2005 to study dance at the Laban Centre. In graduation she received the Marion North Award for Excellent Achievements in Performance. Helka has worked with dance makers such as Laila Diallo, Theo Clinkard, Nicola Conibere, Gill Clarke, Florence Peake, Dog Kennel Hill Project and Siobhan Davies. She is part of an improvisation group of five women called Sheep(s). Helka’s practice and performance is continuously influenced by those she works and collaborates with as well as by her personal practice in thinking and movement on change, the now and stillness.
